On June 11, 2006, the 10th Annual LA Tony Awards Party will honor

three-time Tonyâ award-winning actress and performer Liza Minnelli with the  Julie Harris Lifetime Achievement Award.  [More Photos]

 

In addition to her two Tony Awards for Leading Actress in a Musical for  The Act in 1978 and The Red Menace in 1965, Liza Minnelli received an Special Tony in 1974 for adding luster to the Broadway season.

 

In addition to her three Tonys, she won an Oscar and a Golden Globe in 1972 for her signature role as Sally Bowles in the film version of Cabaret.  In so doing, she became the only Academy Award winner whose parents (Actress, Judy Garland and Director, Vincent Minnelli) were also both Oscar winners.

 

Liza also received a 1972 Emmy award for her unforgettable performance in her television special Liza with a Z; a 1990 Grammy Legends Award; and another Golden Globe for her performance in the 1985 television movie A Time To Live.

SAM HARRIS TO HOST 2006 LA TONY AWARDS PARTY

 

Singer, songwriter, stage, cabaret and TV star, Sam Harris, will host the 2006 Los Angeles Tony Awards Party honor-ing Liza Minnelli on Sunday, June 11, 2006 at the Skirball Cultural Center.

 

After pulling a weekly audience of more than 25 million viewers and going on to win Star Search in it's premier season, Sam Harris and his powerhouse pop, gospel and theater influenced vocals have never looked back!  His debut album Sam Harris and the follow-up Sam-I-Am sold over a million copies.
